Unique features of the center

Unique features of the center (elements, art) Include elements that are reflective of contemporary design. The campus includes two buildings originally designed by architect Edward Durell Stone for Walter Hagen; both were built between 1965 and 1966. Each building is considered a significant example of midcentury modernism – an architectural style popular during the second half of the 20th century. The buildings present clean lines with large windows for expansive views over natural landscaping. This makes these elements even more special than before since they are original works created by local artists working together to create new art through their experiences there. For example, one small amphitheater displays an installation called “Rivers Within” rocks were carved into abstract shapes meant to symbolize the flowing of water. Rancho Mirage is one of a kind in all aspects, including its environmental art pieces.
