Residents of Palm Desert have a climate that is remarkably warm. The average temperature is 75.8 degrees Fahrenheit (24.35 degrees Celsius) during the winter months. It is one of the driest cities in the U.S. The hottest temperature was recorded in Palm Dessert on July 6, 1905. Because of the hot climate, the city’s temperature fluctuates wildly year round. As a result, many people opt to move here to live year-round or for part-time purposes.
There are a number of different museums and attractions in the area. The Palm Desert Museum is one of the most popular attractions in the city, and spans 8,400 square feet. This Silver LEED certified building features permanent and temporary exhibits of paintings, sculptures, and new media. The museum also hosts educational tours and community activities. It has been recognized as a tourist destination for many years. There are several other museums in the region.
The City of Palm Desert is home to some interesting historical sites. The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens is a zoo and botanical garden.
